I have a backpack that’s always packed and ready to roll—whether we’re heading to sports practice, spending a full day at the ball fields, enjoying a park adventure, or hopping on the boat for a little fun in the sun.
Whether you call it a “go bag,” a “mom bag,” or something in between, this backpack is my secret weapon for staying one step ahead of the little emergencies and curveballs that can derail an otherwise smooth day. Today, I’m walking you through the essentials I keep in my bag and sharing some of my absolute favorite items that make outings a whole lot easier.

The Bag
Let’s start with the backpack itself. You can really use anything, but having one with the right features can make a big difference. I personally love this Waterproof Travel Daypack. Living in Florida means sun protection is non-negotiable. These are a few items I never leave home without:

Food & Drinks
The two most predictable phrases I hear from my kids? “I’m thirsty” and “I’m hungry.” I like to be ready.

- No Spill Silicone Bottle Toppers – These are brilliant for turning shared bottled water into kid-friendly sippy-style drinks without the mess. No backwash, no goldfish crumbs—yes, that happened, and it is definitely gross.
- Paper Lunch Bags: Great for divvying up snacks, makeshift placemats, or even emergency coloring sheets.

Extra Clothes
Accidents happen—whether it’s food spills, water play, or something more unexpected. I always keep a Wet/Dry Bag with a change of clothes and a Tide Pen for adult mishaps. These bags are washable and keep the mess contained.
Electronics
